The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is an event that allows the youth in New Mexico to showcase their athletic skills and sportsmanship. It includes a slam-dunk competition and a 3-point shoot-out

NMYD Brawl of the Bands

Got skills with a controller? Come show us what you’re made of on August 2nd and 3rd at Highland High School. The New Mexico Youth Day will be hosting the Brawl of the Bands Tournament, courtesy of Game Stop. This tourney will be a double-elimination tournament for the best rockers and brawlers in New Mexico. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division. Registration ends July 31st, 2008. The games to be played are: Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Guitar Hero III. Good Luck!!!

NMYD Concert

Prime Time encourages the musically talented youth of New Mexico to audition for our Youth Concert. We will conduct a talent search throughout the state. Our Judges will be looking for the best in the categories of R&B, Country, Dance, Rock, etc. The winners will open for professional artist’s that will be performing at the Youth Concert Sunday August 3rd, 2008, Downtown Albuquerque at the Harry E. Kinney Civic Plaza.

NMYD Spelling Bee

Are you a walking dictionary? Do you know the rule “i before e, except after c”? Can you spell etymology? If so, you are certain to enjoy participating in our 2nd Annual SPELLING BEE competition! Participation levels range from elementary through high school. Awards will be given to to the first, second, and third place winners in this exciting and educational event.

NMYD Rodeo

Blow off some steam at our New Mexico Youth Day Rodeo. Try your hand at steer riding, chute, dogging, roping events, and barrel racing. Youth of all ages are eligible to enter this thrilling competition for a chance to win a championship belt buckle. Last year we had over 246 entries and looking to 500 this year.

NMYD Kiddie Olympics

The 2008 KIDDIE OLYMPICS is an event that your entire family will enjoy – there will be something for everyone! All contestants will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal for their participation in the Kiddie Olympics. This fun-filled event will provide you with memories that you will cherish forever

NMYD Creative Art Show

Creative Art Show- is an event that all blossoming artists and art lovers will enjoy. This event allows participants a chance to express how they view their world by creating pieces of outstanding art. Each contestant will receive a prize for his or her entry. The over-all winner will have the opportunity to showcase their work on a billboard sponsored by Prime Time.

NMYD Classic Car Show

New Mexico youth, here is your opportunity to showcase your custom cars and to feel proud of your accomplishments. All contestants will receive a prize and a gift for their participation in the car show.

NMYD Youth Bike Show

The Youth Bike Show is a great opportunity for kids of all ages to enter their custom bikes and receive a trophy or award for their creativity and efforts customizing.

NMYD Skateboard Competition

Prime Time for the kids is always looking for new ideas to make New Mexico Youth Day bigger and better. Last year, our first Skateboard Competition had over 65 entries. We are hoping to double the number of entries this year!

If you like speed, action, and competition, this is the event for you!

NMYD Math Quiz

MATH QUIZ- The Math Quiz is a great opportunity for youth of all grade levels to showcase their “mathematical” skills. Participants will have an opportunity to solve math problems and win prizes for their efforts. Most importantly, this event will help build each participant’s self-confidence, increase their educational motivation.

NMYD Youth Science Show

Youth Science Show-This is our first year to host a youth Science Show. It will give our youth the opportunity to highlight their exciting, imaginative, and scientific productions. This educational exhibition will inspire our young people to continually provoke the though process.

NMYD Put Put Golf

Youth Day Putt-Putt-The Youth Hole-In-One Putt-Putt is a new event for the whole family to enjoy. The hole-in-one putt-putt tests both accuracy and hand/eye coordination as you try to make your shot. Everyone can participate in this activity.
