Ashlie is 18 year old and was raised mostly of in Silver City New Mexico. She graduated from Silver City High School class of 2007, and is now attending Western New Mexico University in Silver City. Ashlie is working toward her degree in Mass Communications Journalism and hopes to land a job in Television. She enjoys Cheerleading, Drama, and Teen Court of Grant County as a Defense Attorney. She also is part of the Universities Jump Rope Club. When Ashlie heard about a State recognized Holiday for youth it was no stopping her from getting involved.

Chris Petrey is 16 years old and attends Rio Rancho High School. Chris won 1st place in last year New Mexico Youth Day Statewide Talent Search. His first musical exposure was in the 4th grade when he joined his school band and again when he joined the orchestra in the 6th grade. This is when he realized he wanted to sing for the rest of his life. He joined the choir, in the 8th grade, at the Rio Rancho Mid-High School and made the district honor choir that year. He made the New Mexico All-State Choir his freshman year in high school, as well as his sophomore and junior years. His goal in life is to change the world with his music and hopes to influence many people with his words.

Jennifer Rodriguez was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She attended Cholla High school and graduated Class of 2007 in the top 20 of her class. She majors in Business and hopes to own her own business one day. She thinks Prime Time is a positive for kids of all ages. She told us: “In my old neighborhood, a lot of people could have used a program like this and I hope I can help make a difference in kid’s lives.

Joshua is 17 and soon to be 18 on March 22, 2008. Joshua has been with Prime Time Youth Advisory Team for over 4 years, and he brings great leaderships to Prime Time. Joshua also was one of the team members who stood before State Legislators to testify on behalf of House Bill 363 in 2007. Joshua is a senior at West Mesa High School and after graduation he plans to attend Western New Mexico University in Silver City. His dream is to become a Computer Engineer and he enjoys helping develop new projects for the New Mexico Youth Day Project.

Marisa is 12 years old and a student at Mc Kinnley Middle School here in Albuquerque, NM. Marisa AKA M.J. spends a lot of her free time playing basketball until she joined Prime Time for the Kids Youth Advisory team. Now she spends most of her time traveling around the State of New Mexico helping to promote the Statewide Talent Search. Marisa says she enjoys working on the youth advisory team because it gives her the opportunity to give input and feel a part of something special. Marisa is also excited that she can help other kids who are having problems with school and be part of the New Mexico Youth Day Holiday

SHANIKA


Shanika is 17 year old and a junior at West Mesa High School.  Shanika has been with Prime Time for 7 years and bring a lot of energy to the Youth Advisory Team. Shanika’s dream is to become one of the hottest female hip- hop rap artist in the state of New Mexico. You probably missed her perform in 2005 with the hit Youth Day 2005. Shanika enjoys playing basketball, and hanging out with friend and family.

Tenadia Is a true leader when it comes to helping kids. A graduate from West Mesa High School sends a clear message that if you put your mind to finishing school you can do it! Tenadia is a sophomore at Western New Mexico University in Silver City and working toward her Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts. Tenadia plans to enroll into The International Culinary School of the art Institute to further her education toward a Masters Degree. Tenadia’s dream is to travel around the world and some day, own her restaurant.

WESLEY


This is Wesley, one of our newer recruits. He is from Belen High School and dreams of becoming the greatest actor ever to hit the big screen. His favorite part of Prime Time is the satisfaction of knowing he has helped one of his fellow teens take one step closer to achieving their dreams.
