A message from Wanda Sharts, Prime Time For the Kids president

Attention!  Attention!  Youth of New Mexico!  Prime Time For The Kids, For The Kids 2009 Youth Day Talent Search is underway!  Can you sing?  Can you dance?  Do you play an instrument?  We are looking for you!   

New Mexico Youth Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2009.

This year we are inviting everyone to Albuquerque to share their talent.  There are three dates available for registration and performance time to participate in the 2009 New Mexico Youth Day Talent Show.  The dates are as follows:  Saturday, June 27, July 11, and July 25.  You may pre register by mail or on line.  Dead line for signing up by mail or email is the preceding Thursday before the dates listed above; or in person no later than 10:00 am on dates listed above.  If you participated in last years’ competition and would like to participate this year, please call me/email me regarding your registration.  My phone number is 505/702-4966, and my email address is wls.1959@gmail.com. 

What’s needed: Registration form, Parent's Waiver/Consent form, show up and share your talent. You can get forms from the top of this page.

There are six categories to choose from: 

• Vocal Solo
• Vocal Group
• Dance Solo
• Dance Group
• Instrumental Solo 
• Instrumental Group (Band)

In the vocal category we will have two age groups: Juniors (12 and under) and Senior (13 – 19 years old).  The age group for all contestants is K through 12th grade, this includes summer 2009 graduates.  Contestants will be judged in areas of talent, originality/creativity, stage presence, visual presentation, and how contestant interacts with audience.  You will perform and feedback will be given immediately after performance.  If you are invited to perform on Youth Day (Saturday, August 1, 2009) your scheduled performance will be between 2pm and 4 pm.  I ask that you sign up for performance between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm with at least two copies of performance track.  If you have any questions please call Wanda at 505/702-4966 or Jozef Springer at 505/990-8127.  Auditions will be held at La Familia, located on the corner of Broadway and Lomas across from McDonald's (parking located in the back of “7” building).  Get ready to showcase your talent and Good Luck!
