Alexandra Stern, pictured at left, won the final round of the Sing For the Kids Talent Competition Sunday, November 7. In addition to the replica check in the photo, she won a real check for $1,000, five hours of studio time at Blas Records, and a trophy.

Prime Time For the Kids, For the Kids presented an Award of Appreciation to Herb and Barbara Edmon on August 7, 2010, the fourth annual New Mexico Youth Day. This is what Board President Wanda Sharts said when presenting the award:

Long-time Albuquerque residents Herb and Barbara Edmons are the founders and directors of Isshin Ryu Club Inc., located at 1314 Gibson SE. Since the early eighties they have been a driving force in providing services throughout communities in this city through the programs offered at their non-profit organization. They are also active in participating in and organizing annual community events and fundraisers.

The Edmons' main focus is on teaching the disciplined style of Isshin Ryu Karate, and working with youth and young adultsin in their efforts to help prevent them from becoming involved in crime, drugs, and gang-related activities. Because of their never-ceasing efforts to continue providing these much needed and beneficial services that have improved the quality of life for so many people, they deserve to be honored. Therefore, [Prime Time for the Kids, For the Kids] presents Herb and Barbara Edmon this Award of Appreciation in recognition of their hard work to make every community a better place to live.

The winner of the raffle for the complete living room set from Aaron's is David Brault of Albuquerque.

Although he was excited to win the furniture, he said that he would prefer it go to a family that needs it more than he does, so he plans to donate it.
