Our Top Supporter: Rep. Rick Miera Helping Keep Kids' Dreams Alive
New Mexico State Representative Rick Miera (District 11, Bernalillo County), pictured at left, has been the No. 1 leader in the state legislature for getting New Mexico Youth Day recognized as an official holiday. He was also instrumental in getting state funding for New Mexico Youth Day activities in 2008 (for following years, Prime Time's youth advisors decided to run their own fundraisers and not seek state money as their contribution to help the state's budget crisis).
As chairman of the legislature's Education Committee, Rep. Miera has been a leading advocate for the youth of New Mexico, and we will always appreciate his leadership in making Youth Day an official state holiday.
